LCD TV Stands Should Provide Good Support

There are some manufacturers that provide LCD TV supports with their upright or flat screen televisions. That LCD TV stands that come with a new LCD television are designed for use with that specific model and may not be secure enough for different television sets. The more slender flat screen LCD TVs have the ability to be mounted on the wall or placed on a LCD TV stand.

The new wide screen LCD TVs will not be able to fit into an older entertainment cabinet that was made for the smaller sets. However, most smaller units will fit, with more space above the television than most people are used to seeing. A chest of drawers may be used as a LCD TV stand if it is sturdy and of the right size.

LCD TV stands have to be in a corresponding size to the television that is being considered. The large LCD TVs that are fifty inches or larger tend to be more stable on a sturdy stand that is large as well.

Examine the Quality of the Stand

Most LCD Flat Panel TV stands are built specifically for a particular model TV and will be able to safely keep it in place. However, when the television is installed into its stands for the first time, it is a good idea to check and make sure it does not wobble if bumped. Especially if a large screen unit is going to be placed on a carpeted floor, the flexibility of the carpet may cause the unit to tip sue to being top heavy.

All LCD televisions should be handled with care as the screen is actually two thin pieces of glass holding the gas and color generators inside. The LCD TV may become inoperable if it falls off the stand. The LCD TV stands should hold the unit securely allowing no opportunity to tip.

There are a few wall mounted flat screen TV's where LCD TV stands are not necessarily required. If the stand is broken, go to an authorized dealer to excange it for a new one.
